Let me tell you a little about Barra Barn.

Whats not to like

Barra Barn is another stunning all-inclusive wedding venue in Aberdeenshire, where I had the pleasure of hosting a wedding in 2023.

A versatile space, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, and just minutes away from Inverurie.

And if you’re thinking, ‘Isn’t that the berries place?’—you’d be right, so there has to be berries for pudding right!

The wedding space is behind where they serve the ice creams, but don’t worry, no one will be peeking in on your day, it’s tucked away behind the café bit.

Imagine starting your wedding day with a wee cone filled with your favourite flavour of ice cream as you stroll around your setup, ensuring everything is in its rightful place—before slipping into your dress. (I know my partner would love that for the start of his wedding day) 😊

Barra Barns is open all year for weddings and has a wood-burning stove to keep you nice and cosy if you fancy having a winter wedding.

There is also a dedicated bar within the ceremony area crafted from copper and whiskey staves which adds a touch of elegance and charm to the room.

Barra Barn only does 1 wedding per day, so the place is totally yours.

Inside or out?

If you fancy an outdoor ceremony but are worried about the weather, don’t worry about that at Barra Barn. You have the choice here so can have it indoors or outdoors or a bit of both.

You just step out the glass front onto a stunning lawn with views to die for, and there are lovely gardens for your photo opportunities, too.

The day I did my wedding ceremony there, the sun was shining and the photos were fantastic.

Don’t break the bank

Not got many guests coming?

Don’t worry the space at Barra Barn is flexible so you can tailor the size of the room to just what you need, how cool is that.

On a budget and worried about the cost of drinks? Don’t be.

Barra barn are happy for you to bring your own drinks and the big bonus is they don’t charge corkage either, not many wedding venues around that do that.

You also get to choose your own catering company, but the team at Barra Barn know all the local suppliers so can help you find the perfect caterer for your wedding day.

The also know lots of other local suppliers so will be able to give you some suggestions on vendors for décor and cakes etc.

Don’t think I’ve made it to the vendor list yet, but you know where I am anyway 😊

Sleep over

Wanting a sleepover the night before? That’s taken care of at Barra Barn too.

They have 3 lodges in the grounds of Barra Castle, right next door to the venue which have been modernised and are stunning inside.

So, if you are looking for a wedding venue that not to far but feels like its in the country then pop out and take a look at Barra Barn, you won’t be disappointed
