Cluny Castle – Aberdeen Wedding Venue
the most majestic, secluded and enchanting venue
I have lived near this wedding venue for over 20 years and, sad to say, have never been out to see it. If you have not seen it yet, get yourself out to Cluny Castle for a wee wander around; it’s stunning.
Cluny Castle is a stunning location for a wedding or even an elopement. Your guests will be blown away by the awesome history, incredible architecture, and gorgeous views.
Are you just starting out planning your wedding and looking for the right venue? Fancy getting married in a Scottish Castle?
A venue perfect for a small, intimate wedding ceremony on the outskirts of Aberdeen.
I had the pleasure of officiating a ceremony at Cluny Castle in May 2024 for Rowan and Martyn.
It’s a wee gem of an intimate wedding venue in Aberdeen. that will certainly add the wow factor to your wedding.
Let me tell you a bit about Cluny Castle.
Renowned for its romance, and enchanting setting
A venue full of surprises
Cluny Castle is a stunning spot in Aberdeenshire for those private, intimate weddings.
It is just the most magical place for fairytale weddings.
The castle was built hundreds of years ago but still remains the much-loved home of the Gordons of Cluny.
The grounds are beautifully kept, and once you get to the top of the drive and the castle faces you, it takes your breath away.
I’m pretty sure I lived in a castle in my previous life!
The Church
Rowan and Martyn held their ceremony in the church in Cluny Castle.
Cluny Castle has a stunning little chapel with a private courtyard entrance for weddings.
The day before the wedding, the sun was shining, and it lit up all the little crevices inside the church. It was happy that a wedding was taking place.
The stained glass windows are stunning, and the oak pews are perfect for seating up to 120 guests as they watch you exchange your vows.
I watched as the guests arrived and marvelled at the chapel and how beautiful it was.
Sleepovers
Cluny Castle is an all-exclusive wedding venue that can accommodate up to 28 guests, which was perfect for Rowan and Martyn’s family as many had travelled from England for the wedding.
So, as well as the chapel and the bedrooms, you have full use of the grounds during your stay.
Plenty of walks the next morning to chat over your wedding day.
Those little touches
The team at Cluny Castle were fantastic and went out of their way to ensure that Rowan and Martyn’s wedding was exactly as they imagined it to be.
Every detail was perfect for them, including the weather, the sun had disappeared but it didn’t rain the whole weekend, so the visitors from England got to see a piece of Aberdeenshire history at its best.
If you’re looking for a wedding in a bit of Scottish history, then Cluny Castle might just be the place your looking for.
You won’t be disappointed in the views, the chapel or the castle.
Tell them Mary (aka The Celebrant Angel) sent you
Of course, you will need a celebrant to create a unique ceremony for you on the day, too, so pop over for a chat and let’s see if your date is free in my diary.
