Meldrum House – Aberdeen Wedding Venue
A venue full of history and romance.
August 2023 saw me doing a wedding at Meldrum House Hotel for Donnie and Anouska, a venue famous for weddings.
A wedding venue set in 240-acres of pristine parklands, the perfect setting for your ceremony with plenty of photo opportunities for your wedding day.
Are you just starting out planning your wedding and looking for the right venue?
We’ll let me take you to a venue that’s perfect for weddings – Meldrum House tucked away on the outskirts of Aberdeen.
Meldrum House is situated about eighteen miles from the city centre of Aberdeen, sitting in some stunning country side.
A venue with options where you can choose to have an indoor ceremony or an outdoor one.
And that’s a good choice to have in Aberdeen as you never know what the weathers going to do.
So let me tell you a bit more about having a wedding at Meldrum House.
A Historic building, with more than a touch of romance.
The Ball Room
The ballroom is your blank canvas to create the wedding you’ve always dreamed of.
With floor-to-ceiling windows offering a picture-postcard view of the golf course, it’s a setting made for memories.
The ballroom includes its own reception area that opens onto the terrace and gardens—an ideal spot for a summer ceremony, or a place to nip out for a breath of fresh air after a few bevvies.
And just imagine a quick dance under the stars with your partner—how cool would that look in photos?
Sleepovers
Meldrum House has lots of variety to choose from on the sleepover side of things for your guests.
There is the Manor house, which has ten bedrooms.
The Estate wing of the hotel has 28 bedrooms.
And lastly, the Stables houses 13 more bedrooms.
So, depending on the size of your wedding party and guests, you’re bound to be able to fit most of them alongside you at Meldrum House, (if you want them all that close that is)
The Pods
Anouska and Donnie decided to hold their small ceremony dinner in one of the Pods at Meldrum House.
The photos show how stunning it was and how much fun they all had in there.
Being a girl who loves the sun, moon, and stars, I love that they have named the pods after the stars and moon.
Don’t be worrying that you might melt into a puddile in there in the height of summer or freeze in winter they come complete with their own individual air conditioning to either heat them up or cool them down.
The Domes all hold different amounts of people
Castor holds up to 6 guests,
Luna holds up to 8 guests
and the two slightly larger ones Aurora and Sirius hold up to 12 each
What about if you have more than 12 guests but wanted to use the domes?
Well, I think what I might do is book all the domes and seat your guests in them but leave 2 seats for you and your partner in each one, and you have a different course in a different dome.
You might have to do your speeches outside or in another room so you only have to do them once, but that would make your ceremony a bit different woldn’t it.
Meldrum is the perfect spot for a a variety of sized weddings in Aberdeen/shire that I would highly recommend
Tell them Mary (aka The Celebrant Angel) sent you
Of course, you will need a celebrant to create a unique ceremony for you on the day, too, so pop over for a chat and let’s see if your date is free in my diary.
