I honestly cannot recommend this as a wedding venue enough, for the smaller more intimate weddings in Aberdeen. Stuart and his team are amazing, and nothing is ever too much bother AND The food is to die for. There is no backup plan if it rains other than brollies, and in Scotland you need to take the brollies just in case. We had rocks to sign the marriage schedule on, rock pools to cool the celebratory champagne, and there were no rules about throwing confetti 😊 There are some cracking beaches around our coasts where you could have a lovely beach wedding. One for the bride walking down the aisle and one for the couple walking back up the aisle. And if you want to step away from tradition you could have the groom walking down the aisle himself to one of his favourite tunes. At Annouska and Donny's wedding, the lovely Pual Black was their singer, he was amazing. He sang whilst the guests arrived, for the ceremony music and then sang for their guests in the evening. And by the looks of this photo he was enjoying his work as much as the guests were. So I’d suggest picking a nice calming piece of music to play in the background whilst they arrive and wait to take their seats. When guests arrive, there’s always a bit of mingling, and silence can feel awkward. Music—live or pre-recorded—helps set the mood and relaxes everyone before the ceremony starts. You don’t need live music, but it adds a special touch. A string quartet or harpist, like the Rococo Quartet at Yvonne & Stuart’s wedding, can create a beautiful atmosphere. 🎻✨ If live music isn’t in the budget, a playlist works just as well! Choosing your wedding day music can be stressful for couples, and a task often left right to the end. And that’s okay, but do you know how many pieces of music you need for your wedding ceremony? And what parts of the ceremony need a bit of music? If you know how much music you need for your wedding ceremony, you can start making up a playlist with some options that you can whittle down closer to the time. This wedding music list is different from your reception music (another thing to add to your to-do list, I’m afraid). Consider the kind of atmosphere you want your music to convey. Is there a particular instrument you like? Is the wedding formal or laid back? Funny or romantic? Sometimes it’s good to see the ceremony script once your celebrant has created it so you can see the tone of the wedding ceremony and can then choose the right music to play on your wedding day.
