Sarah and Andrew’s wedding
This is where France met Scotland. Sarah is French and now living with Andrew, who’s Scottish, in Scotland.
It was a small intimate wedding ceremony with close family and friends from France and Scotland alongside the couple.
They wanted a low key personal wedding ceremony so choose to have it in The Winter Gardens, in Duthie Park in Aberdeen.
It was a very touching romantic ceremony with tears as well as laughter.
And so like the water,
I hope your love is ever growing, ever changing.
I hope your love is powerful and free
And may you always find each other,
Like a river finds the sea.
The key to love is …
Trust is the foundation that supports a relationship
Date & Venue
The Winter Gardens in Duthie Park on August 24th 2024 was the setting for Sarah and Andrews wedding ceremony.
It was a lovely sunny morning, not too hot but smelt gorgeous, and all the flowers were in full display for the lovely couple
THE COUPLE
Sarah and Andrew were a lovely couple to work with, very chilled and relaxed.
They wanted to celebrate their relationship with their close family, and that’s what their day was about, not pomp and ceremony.
wedding party
The wedding party was fabulous, and were so chilled.
Many were French but spoke English apart from her Grandfather; we translated the ceremony into French so he could follow along with the ceremony.
ceremony
Sarah and Andrews ceremony was so chilled, we shared the story of how they met and their life together so far.
We included a handfasting in the ceremony with a handfast that Sarah had made herself for the occassion.
Their Story
first date
Sarah and Andrew met online and their first date was for a coffee at a local coffee shop.
Neither of them was sure if one liked the other, but both had enjoyed the 1st date.
But that was soon put to rest when they continued dating soon after that first date.
proposal
Our couple loved a bit of wild foraging and had come across a patch of wild garlic.
Sarah was busy stuffing garlic into empty clean poop bags, whilst Andrew was stuffing his stash with a bit more than garlic… an engagement ring.
Was a total surprise to Sarah.
the family
With families split across the globe it takes a bit of travelling for Sarah and Andrew to catch up with eveyone.
But the support they had from their families throughout their relationship was tremendous, and you could feel the tight-knit on the day of the ceremony.
Mary has managed to tailor our wedding ceremony to reflect who we are as a couple – guests were raving about the quality of the service.
Everyone involved felt honoured in their own ways which was what we wanted for our intimate wedding.
