The Barn – Aberdeen Wedding Venue
A venue with character and ambiance that is both authentic and unique.
Another venue in Aberdeen that I’ve never been to for a wedding for even a visit, I hear the gift shop and cafe are amazing too.
The Barn is a stunning location for a wedding or even an elopement. Perched atop a hill overlooking the beautiful Royal Deeside, it’s close to Banchory with that countryside feel, yet only 30 mins from Aberdeen.
Are you just starting out planning your wedding and looking for the right venue? Take a wee look at The Barn, it might be just what your looking for.
A venue perfect for a small, intimate wedding ceremony on the outskirts of Aberdeen.
I had the pleasure of officiating a ceremony at The Barn in June 2024 for Eilidh and Lynne
It’s a wee gem of an wedding venue in Aberdeen, and it will certainly add the wow factor to your wedding.
Let me tell you a bit about The Barn.
The perfect spot for an intimate relaxed wedding ceremony
A venue with character and ambience
The Barn is tunning spot in Aberdeenshire for those private, intimate weddings.
It is just the most magical place for intimate weddings, but you’ll be surprised how many it can actually hold.
You can start with your ceremony in the stunning Gallery, which is lovely and light, and have your wedding meal in the Barn’s main hall.
With lots of space and lots of windows looking out onto the stunning views surrounding The Barn.
The Community
The Barn is a Scottish charity founded in 1994, and is dedicated to arts and community enrichment.
They hold art exhibitions and workshops, live music, theatre, and lots more.
Proceeds from venue rentals, such as your wedding, fund their diverse arts programs and support local businesses and community initiatives on Deeside.
Now I wouldn’t mind paying for that kind of venue when you know the money is being put to good use.
Numbers
The Gallery can accommodate up to 100 people seated for a wedding ceremony.
Or you could hold the ceremony in the main barn space if more than 100 people were attending the ceremony part of your wedding day
. The main Barn can hold 120 people.
And for evening guests, you can get another 30 in the Main Barn for a bit of a hoolie, so 150 in total.
They also have a walled garden, but I didn’t see it when I was there in June.
But if it’s anything like the rest of the venue, it will be stunning, I’m sure.
Those little touches
The Barn team was lovely and helpful on the wedding day.
And they have you covered for a lot of things fo your big day from
Table and Chairs
Rustic Props
Car parking
Use of the kitchen (if your hiring your own caterers)
And a wedding co-ordinator
Theres not much else you need apart from your own decor to style the rooms your own way.
If you’re looking for a wedding venue that gives a little bit back to the community then The Barn might just be the place your looking for.
You won’t be disappointed in the views or the size of the place.
Tell them Mary (aka The Celebrant Angel) sent you
Of course, you will need a celebrant to create a unique ceremony for you on the day, too, so pop over for a chat and let’s see if your date is free in my diary.
