Rachel and Bruce’s wedding
Rachel and Bruce are a lovely couple, a couple of farmers whos relationship blossomed in Bruce’s tractor all those years ago.
They have a beautiful family and wanted a day where they could get married, but without all the attention.
We had their ceremony on the family farm on a soaking wet day, the usual in Aberdeen in 2024.
Today is a day you will always remember, the greatest in anyone’s life
You’ll start off the day just two people in love.
And end it as Husband and Wife
It’s a brand new beginning the start of a journey
With moments to cherish and treasure
The key to love is …
And with luck, all your hopes, and your dreams can be real
Date & Venue
The family farm in Laurecenkirk was the venue for this ceremony on 14th June 2024.
A barn that, until 3 weeks before the wedding, had over 100 sheep lambing in, you would never have known that on the day.
THE COUPLE
Rachel and Bruce were a lovely relaxed couple ready to get married.
They have a 2 littlies Kerr and Isla who they dote on. They were super chilled with suggestions for the ceremony.
wedding party
The wedding party all lovely and delighted to watch Bruce and Rachel finally get married.
There were loud cheers and claps at the end of the ceremony for the lovely Mr and Mrs Smith.
ceremony
This ceremony was traditional but personal for Rachel and Bruce.
They were nervous on the day but that soon changed once they settled into their story being shared with the guests.
Their Story
first date
Rachel and Bruce saw each other often at Young Farmers events until he finally asked her out.
Their first date was up to Stoney for one of the famous Aunty Betty ice creams.
proposal
Bruce proposed on a lovely weekend away that he’d organised for Rachel.
He got down on that special knee and diverted Rachels attention from her phone to the ring.
the family
Kerr and Isla are Bruce and Rachel’s world and were included in the day with Kerr being a page boy and Isla being the flower girl.
Rachel and Bruce are building a life for the kids like they had, on the farm in nature.
From the first time we spoke to Mary we knew she was the right humanist for us. She was great with our young children from the first time she met them right up until the big day. Our ceremony was exactly the way we wanted it , personal, relaxed and good sense of humour.
